I doubt the average …
I doubt the average person would want to go out a purchase a decent quality video camera. They cost SO much, and unless you’re truly into video making, then there’s no point.
Plus, on top of that, YouTube tends to mess with the quality of videos when you upload them. Giving them that annoying pixelated crappy image.
They’re working on fixing it though which is cool because they now have the option of high quality or normal.

So if the video looks crappy, its the fault of the person that uploaded it. And you don’t need a fancy camera, just a basic digital video camera.
